Sorry to hear about your hen.  Hope she makes a full recovery.

I would not keep him, but it is possible (since you lost other birds), that the combination of the roo trying to breed the hens (new stress) and the heat resulted in the deaths.

Stinkin' critters.  I am up to seven raccoons and two opossums this month (so far).

Although not always practical, if you can have an inner and outer door, that is great.  (Prevents escapes.)
