Her comb and wattles are, but not her earlobes. Why does that make a difference?

I have a BR that just started laying, she is about 24or 25 weeks,  but her eggs are white. Will they get brown as she ages? They also are more elongated than my other pullets.

What would attack a chicken in broad daylight? Something carted off one of my chickens from the yard at 3 in the afternoon. Pulled out her tail feathers and some from around her neck, but never broke the skin. I heard something moving...
