This is a photo journal of me (older married female) 'building my coop & run' on my own. I have no building experience, been toying with the idea of having chickens for awhile but hubby says an resounding NO! So I stopped asking a couple years ago and started looking at photos on the internet and that eventually lead to the idea of building it myself. I found some photos I liked and thought well how hard can this be..........arrrggg. I realize now why it's good to have a 'plan' that fits in with the size of building materials. It would of made things so much easier.
Well what is it they say Live and Learn. LOL I learn lots on this project and not just about building. I learned that I have much more patience, perseverance and ability to laugh at myself than I thought I ever would have.
I picked up the chickens today (Oct. 20/12) and now its time for next chapter to begin.
Three Black Copper Marans, Two Blue Copper Marans, and three true Ameraucana x Black Copper Marans
Tomorrow they get to play in the run, yeehaw!!
I love your coop and run. What size is the coop, and what size is the run, and how many chickens do you have? I have plans to build another coop and run on my property, (when I can save up enough for the supplies). You did a great job! Congrats and thumbs up to you!
