first cattle panel hoop house / chicken tractor

Originally this inexpensive and easy to build moveable "egg factory" started as a 96" x 100" x 6' tall chicken wired and tarp covered cattle panel tractor design.
After moving it around the uneven lawn around the pole barn and seeing how long it took the grass to recover from the 15 growing "eating machines", and seeing how every addition to the coop added to it's weight and difficulty in moving (even with wheels), I decided to convert it into a permanently placed structure.
I formed and poured a concrete slab a couple feet away from the front (south facing) side of my barn. I figured that this would place it in the lee of our predominantly southwesterly Michigan winter winds. It also eliminated the need for the electric wire (and using a $69.00 Harbor Freight solar fence charger) around the bottom of the coop used to deter any digging varmints looking for a chicken dinner. The whole coop is covered with 1" chicken wire, walls, roof and ends even though everything except the front wall with door started out covered with poly tarps (also Harbor Freight).
