Chick Nursery. This is the second coop I built myself. The design is very airy on top to allow airflow during the hot California summers. Although I originally used this coop for newborn through fully mature egg layers with free range access daily, I currently use it as a nursery for youngsters. Inside, I have it divided with wire so that new babies are on the right and older babies on the left. There are two doors behind the coop as well.

Juvenile Pen. This is a coop I got for free from a friend of a friend. The top is enclosed with a fully covered run which gives them access to the dirt. We put chicken wire under the whole thing a couple inches down to protect from predators.

Chick nursery. This is the right side where my older babies are growing. Next they will move to a pen where they will have more outdoor access. We are just starting to let them our for a few hours at a time so they can explore and catch bugs.
