Pros: Fairly consistent layer, gets along well with other hens
Cons: Not very friendly with people
We brought our ameraucana home when she was two months old. She's always gotten along well with the other chickens. She lays a smaller sized green egg about 6 days a week. While most of my other chickens have warmed up to me, she has always been somewhat stand-offish. She does not like to be petted or held like the others do. This is my only ameraucana, so I wouldn't judge the entire breed by her personality, and I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for some of the varieties that lay colored eggs!
