Pros: great brooders, friendly, quiet, easily handled,

Cons: great brooders, small eggs, emotional

I bought 3 of them as pets first, eggs second birds.

Pros first...they have successfully hatched 3broods each totaling about 30 chicks (given away to anyone who would take them), with the exception of one they are all really friendly sweet girls, all of them are so easy to handle even my 4year old can just pick them up and tote them around the neighborhood when ever the mood suits her(never leaving the yard with out a grown up).

now for the negs: All three of my girls went broody before they ever laid an egg...i'm talking they tried to hatch the golf balls...it take 3 of the eggs they lay to add up to one large egg from the grocery (thats like getting 1egg a day for me) when i take the eggs from a broody hen she starts to pluck out all her feathers.

Aren't broody hens the point of owning Cochin bantams?
Actually the main point of cochins (bantams or not) is that they are ornamental showbirds.
