Pros: smart, beautiful eggs, friendly

Cons: sometimes skittish

We have 2 barred rocks and 2 EEs.  The rocks are pushier and peckier, but the EEs are great.  One is a little skitterish (the prettier one) but the more raggedy-looking one is the best layer with the best color eggs, the friendliest, and the smartest of the four chooks.  And neither EE has ever once pecked me.  If I got more hens, they'd likely be EEs.  And the eggs are beautiful!

I have noticed the same thing with EE the prettier ones usaually aren't as friendly but this year the ugliest one we have is the my skittish and she pecks but this one really cute one Named Caramel is my baby she flys on my sholder all the time and sits in my lap and the second Ugliest one whos name is Scarlet sits in my lap
I've got two EEs and one is suffering terribly with the heat this summer---pants constantly and actually got sick for a few days. My other hens are managing fine, but the brown and red EE struggles. She's sweet, but my friendliest hen is a little black sex link.
