Grey and Buff Exhibition Dewlap Toulouse Geese

Posted

Pros: Gentle, relatively quiet, great flock guardians, get along well with other poultry/geese

Cons: Difficult to incubate/hatch,

My Exhibition Dewlap Toulouse Geese are the most prized members of my flock. I absolutely adore everything about them! They make wonderful pets and are also great flock guardians in that they let me know if there's a problem outside. I have found the Exhibition Dewlap Toulouse to be quite difficult to incubate and/or hatch successfully and would highly recommend gaining experience with a breed which doesn't present as many problems before trying these. I have found my geese to be gentle at all times of the year, including the breeding season. Although the ganders can get a bit testy during breeding season, I haven't witnessed the viciousness that I've seen in some other goose breeds at...

UK Exhibition Dewlap Toulouse Geese - Grey and Buff.

Posted

Pros: 'Giant' breed with a very striking appearence. Calm and friendly disposition.

Cons: Shoter life span in extreme exhibition types, eggs can be difficult to hatch, prefer to be amongst own breed.

A stunning and striking breed of geese which always draws admiration for its looks and size.  We have established UK show lines and our stock is descended from International show lines including Holderread.   Our favourite breed and we have established and developed our theories of incubation based on direct research with this breed.  Please PM for availability.   2013 has seen us establish our own line of exhibition Buffs which have been line bred from Champion foundation birds.   A breed which we highly recommend.

Buff & Grey Dewlap Toulouse Geese

Posted

Pros: gentle, calm, quiet, can be kept in small yards

Cons: fragile, not good foragers, not with with other goose breeds

I have 19 dewlap toulouse geese (7 buff/12 grey).  They are wonderful pets and make excellent front yard lawn ornaments.  They are sweet and sociable... and always act super happy to see me.  It is a shame that they are so rare and difficult to find for purchase. I hope to help change that in 2013.   6 month old grey gander   7 month old buff gander   1.5 year old buff gander   1.5 year old grey geese     Edited by Staff

Have 13 total - Buff and Gray

Posted

Pros: gentle, easy going, calm, get along great with other geese

Cons: large bodied, needing mostly flat surface for moving about on

We have 13 Dewlap Toulouse in both Gray and Buff. Out of those 13 we have selected 9 to definitely be breeding stock for 2013. None of our breeding stock selected has any faults or defects be it SOP or genetic. We will continue to grow out and cull from the breeding flock those who dont meet the written standard. We cull any genetically weak hatchlings as to never pass along weak stock to customers.   We hope to offer hatching eggs and goslings both.   Our farm is just one of so many raising these gentle giant geese, please feel free to email us directly if you have questions concerning these geese, their needs, or buying any wether it be from us or another reputable...

Dewlap Toulouse

Posted

Pros: Not super noisy, gentle giants

Cons: really heavy, prone to leg problems

I love these geese so much. I have a trio (gray split buff gander and two buff geese). They don't have a problem with any of my other birds. I can get quite close without them running away. Great Breed!
