HumidiKitTM - Auto Humidity System for Incubators

I just purchased from Incubator Warehouse. I'm am new to hatching eggs and presently have 45 quail eggs in my Farm Innovators Pro Series incubator. I find the HumidiKit instructions very confusing and running my incubator without it. I'm hoping I can get someone from Incubator Warehouse to help me out. If not, I will be returning the HumidiKit.

I'm updating my review now that I have another hatch using it:

I started with the kit from 24 hours after I set chicken eggs. I always give the incubator 24 hours after I set eggs to adjust.

I didn't have to do anything but check the bottle daily and adjust humidity up because of our dry air. Otherwise, it was a no muss no fuss experience. I'm very happy I've added the kit to my incubator.

I added this humidifier to my HovaBator 1602N with forced air.

It's super easy to set up, basically plug and play. Instructions were easy to understand and I ordered from the manufacturer via my Amazon account on Friday, it arrived Monday.

I put it on the table next to my incubator and after running for a day I noticed water was collecting in the ribs of the tubing and dripping into the incubator. Sometimes the humidity would drop and I would have to move the tubing so the base at the unit wasn't leaning over. Also, the bottle is a bit fussy. The lid can't be too tight or the bottle can begin to collapse. Too loose and it lets too much water flow into the reservoir.

I moved the humidifier to a wire shelf lower than the incubator and lightly taped the tubing to the bottle to keep it upright. Now it's working properly and well. Much less hassle than adding water by hand and the humidity swings are non-existent. The temperature also stays more consistent since I'm not opening the incubator to add water. There's an occasional tiny drip into the incubator but no puddle since most of what collects goes back to the reservoir now.
I'm not going to speak to hatch rate since there are so many factors that can have an impact on the results.

I would buy this product again and recommend it with the warning that it can be a bit finicky. Once it's set up and running it's easy to maintain.

I am an incubator rookie. After I purchased a small, cheap incubator and was fairly successful, I knew I wanted something to hatch more eggs and to give me better odds with shipped or rare/expensive eggs. Sometimes I get super busy and I would slip in checking the humidity and didn't want to keep opening it to check it or add water. So when i saw this as an accessory for the hovabator genisis with automatic egg turner I had to get it and give it a shot. It runs within a couple degrees of the incubator reading and I only had to fill it once during the 21 days. I hatched 10/14 lavender orpington, 10/15 silkie and 8 out of 24 serama shipped eggs in the middle of summer which I was very happy with. You just set it and basically forget it. Great directions and so simple to assemble and set. A must have for people who love hatching eggs but want a more simplified approach.
