Pros: Good egg production, gorgeous plumage

I've only had one Wyandotte, a silver laced that was unfortunately killed by a neighbor's dog, but she was absolutely gorgeous and provided me with a steady supply of tasty brown eggs. She wasn't nearly as friendly with people as my other birds, but she wasn't aggressive either. She was just... aloof. She didn't even sleep in the coop, she slept in a tree! I couldn't rely on her to always lay her eggs in the nesting box, either. It seemed like the eggs almost sneaked up on her, and she sat down and left them all over the yard. I received her as a gift from a friend, who says that her Wyandottes were similarly behaved.
I miss that chicken and wouldn't hesitate to get another one just like her.
