Please someone tell me TSC was right and this is a Buff Orpington pullet...

I got one 1 cockerel out of 6 which were supposed to be pullets so I guess I was lucky. TSC isn't very reliable unless they are sex link breeds and still unless you know what your doing you can still get roos.

I always want to say, "its a pullet!" So bad, especially when the title says "please" lol....

Really, its so hard to tell with some breeds without vent sexing, and I can imagine for some farm supply chains thst when you get shipped 100 "pullets" thst there are definitely going to be cockerels too. They should at least be more forthcoming and label them "straight run"... I've been in my local Bomgaars and watched them put ducks in broilers labeled " geese", among other mislabeled signage... We are lucky here to have a great lady who actually has chickens, in fact, she is very knowledgeable, but if you catch a different associate you're lucky if she even knows what a duck IS.... Good help is hard to come by! :D

Cockerel for sure. I had the same problem, bought 10 from Orschelen's and got one roo out of the ten. Looks just like the guy in your pic. Wait for the crow, that will tell you for sure.

Yeah, at 10 weeks I would say there's little chance those are pullets. I have some birds approaching 9 weeks, and the pullets don't have any red in their combs yet. The personality is always interesting, I have 3 roosters that I've known were roosters since they were three weeks old, and they have very clear rooster features and character.

Three others are slower developing and act a lot more like pullets, but are clearly roosters when seen next to their pullet counterparts.

I am basically telling you there's not much hope for brown eggs from your boys, but they might be fairly docile pets… or meals or gifts… not sure what you have planned
