Just want to share with people who will understand how I am feeling - we got our first two eggs today!! 
I have four Bresse pullets, just 17 1/2 weeks old, and this lunchtime I went to do a bedding change and saw two eggs! Really surprised, I was not expecting any for at least a couple of weeks yet. The eggs are perfectly formed with shells, maybe more oval than with a thicker /wider end than a 'normal' egg., but frankly, I do not care.
Oddly, I had planned to open up their nesting box this weekend anyway- so that is now done, fresh bedding put in, and lots of praise given, even if they do not understand it.
