Hi there. My wife and I are new to the chicken world. Our 12 pullets are 18 weeks old and we just got our first small green egg yesterday!!! We bought most of them on-line and they are a mix. There is one, however that we can't identify. She looks like our Easter Eggers but without the ear muffs (?). This is an 18 week picture and if anyone has a good guess, we would appreciate it. Thanks, and we really appreciate all the comments on this website. My wife and I have learned so much over the past few months.

She's an Easter Egger without the muffs. EEs are hybrids produced by crossing blue egg layers with brown egg layers to produce offspring that lay eggs in colors other than just blue, and while muffs are very common on EEs, depending on the breeds and genes involved in the cross, they do not always have muffs.

Agree she's a clean faced Easter egger--seems like we've seen more of them the last 2 years or so. But her nice tight pea comb bodes well for colored eggs when she starts laying
