Just joined & looking forward to collecting my first hens end July

Hi :welcome from Yorkshire UK

Glad you could join the flock! How exciting for you to be getting your chicken adventures started :celebrate You have certainly come to the right place for lots of great advice on keeping your hens safe, happy and healthy. Have you checked out the learning centre? Lots of articles and tips on getting started. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center

What breed/s are you getting? I started my chicken adventures with warrens and they were great egg layers and friendly too.

Wishing you the very best of luck with them. Be sure to ask any questions that you may have, everyone here to help and very friendly.

Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow

Thank you Yorkshire, I'm awaiting delivery of an omlet cube and 2 pullets from omlet, hybrids Miss Pepperpot & Gingernut Ranger. Still undecided about what else to add. I was hoping to source calm & friendly breeds (if there's such a thing). Although the coop is supposed to house several average sized hens, I'm not so sure and think 4/5 is plenty to get started.
My backyard is in suburban Derby, so if anyone nearby has some nice friendly pullets or POL for sale I'd be interested to hear.
Thanks again for the warm welcome
