frustrated with my goslings! they don't like me

Do geese usually molt this time of year? They seem to be doing a sort of soft molt- nobody is bald, just a little ruffled looking and lots of feathers across the grass.

Sounds like things are going better. Ours dont't like going in unless it is dark. The times we have tried locking them up before dark it gas been like herding cats. Once they wouldn't go in because a skunk was in their barn looking for chicken eggs. They don't like change and are suspious of everything by nature but given time they do come around.

We just lure them in with "the blue bucket" now. The blue bucket, of course, has grain in it. They just get one scoop between the 7 of them each night to get them in their house. Other than that, I'm raising them on pasture only. They seem to be gaining enough weight.

Mine started molting in June and are still losing some soft feathers. so yes they can molt this time of year.

What will you feed them come winter when pasture will be dead?
