I rescued a damaged dove about a year ago. The vet examined it and said it was a female. A week or so later I got another female from a dove rescue. They have always gotten along well...lots of bow cooing and mounting though, and no nest or eggs, so I suspect they are both males, despite the experts. Even so, they've been good friends. Until yesterday. I put them in a new cage and they are pecking each other, wing boxing, and just being obnoxious. Could it possibly be a hard adjustment to a new cage? If so, what do I do? Cage was expensive and it's really big and nice for the two of them...they are stuck with it. If not that, what else could possibly have turned them against each other? How long should I let them bicker hoping they will work it out? So far no damage to either. Advice please?

I keep pigeons as well as chickens... I suspect that both of your doves are males. Just let them work out their differences. I would think that your doves have similar thinking as pigeons.. My pigeons occasionally get into scuffles.(males) but it passes. It may be similar to pecking order in chickens.
A possible solution may be to locate 2 females... I know it is difficult to recognize the sex of doves, but someone that has had theirs for extended time can.
WISHING YOU BEST
