Update: The lil guy didn't make it.. He passed this around 4am when I checked... I found him laying on his side and panting around 2am. It was heartbreaking to see him suffer.. It's so strange tho because earlier he was eating, drinking, pooping.. Moving around still... And chirping.. I don't get it.I really though he was going to make it...
Did he pass naturally or did you have to put him down? I'm so sorry!! I came very close to loosing the chick I assisted. Same thing happened. I checked at 5am and he was laying on his side, head shaking, and panting. I made him drink lots of electrolyte. And he had a miraculous recovery. But this was 12 hrs after hatch, not days. There could have been so many things wrong with him that just weren't visible to the eye. Maybe that's why he needed help to hatch. You did the best you could and gave him a chance!
