certainly worth a try.... I have about three dead swamp coolers that I could combine to make a single working one. Conisdeing making that part of my coop rebuild.

But they sure can mess up your day!We were greeted by a nice big Rattlesnake when we parked the car in the garage just now. My 26 year old son is freaking because he has to put the trash out tonight. I told him to wear his boots and levis hed be fine.
It was a nice big adult about six feet long... tasting the vibrations of the garage door as it shut.... another reason to keep your garage doors shut this time of year.
dont put hands in places you cant see
dont allow piles of wood or stuff to create refuge
they arent a threat to chickens.

We relocate if we can.... I have done this but my son hasnt.... it had climbed up inside the wheel of his car and he didnt want to kill it. I told him to just turn the car on and ease out of the driveway. the vibration will make it get down. it did and my son said it just layed ther ein the driveway... nice big fat bulge in the middle so it had just eaten.
DS took the grippers we use for grabbing stuff of the tall shelves and gently grabbed the snake in the middle and placed it in an empty garbage can. The snake didnt even set off the alarm till he had let it go in the can. After that he took it to the end of the block and let it loose in a drainiage ditch.
Southern Pacific Rattle Snake.
ours was not as big as this one in diameter.... it was much darker and about two feet long.
funny how initially I thought it was longer....
