First Egg!!!

Very cool on the eggs, we thought we had a rooster as well, but all our girls look like they are starting to lay and none of them are crowing, so this is a good sign, I did not want to let any of them go.

My very first question to this forum. And new member. My EE have just started to lay. My question is are there usually small?

I got my 1st egg last week from my 22 week old..she laid 2 more every other day...but now she has not laid in the nest box since her last egg Thursday..it's now tuesday and still no egg.......My hens are free range but return to roost by their nest boxes at night...I search the entire yard and couldn't find any eggs anywhere....wonder what's going on........... :(

We got our first egg from our barred rock, Sherman, just before she turned 18 weeks. This morning we got our first egg from either our golden sexlink, black starr, or one of the rhode island reds. The BIG thing is that our barred rock is now laying her eggs (she took Saturday off) in the nesting boxes, as is the hen that laid the second egg this morning! We are excited that all 7 hens will be laying their eggs in the nesting boxes...whew!
