I have rooster jail, some spend months in there. And my roosters sometimes crow at 3 am.
Chickens, muscovy ducks, turkeys, donkeys , goats, dogs, fish, parakeets, a parrot, and a cat.

Chickens and dogs are healing to the soul.

I brake for squirrels.

Some of my birds.

@oldhenlikesdogs did you notice any infertility after he was penned up for a long time?  My hens just don't need the harassment this time of year so I hope to keep him incarcerated until spring.

most roosters have less hormones flowing during the winter, with a flare up in Spring. I haven't noticed any fertility problems, I don't hatch a lot either, I don't think abstinence would harm a rooster in any way, your hens will probably thank you too.
