Can an Ayam Cemani have a white tongue and still be worth alot of $$$? - Page 4

From what I understand they are born with the all black pigment. I don't think it gets darker with age but I would LOVE to hear from experts. I tried to find a thread on here about this breed but I could not find anything with much information... Anyone know the best place to learn more? Here is my lightest birds' feet. She is standing funny but you can clearly see her nails are light colored.

How much would an AC chick with white tongue cost out of curiosity? Same as other breeds chicks or slightly higher?

Probably a little more just because it is harder to find a breeder and the breeder probably paid more for the parents.

Her toenails are also a problem. She's pet quality, not show/breeder quality. You might get $20 to $30 for her. Not many people are willing to pay more than that for a backyard layer, regardless of breed.

It all depends on the buyer, why s/he wants the birds, and how they will be used.  A knowledgeable buyer will probably only value it slightly more than any other chick, since it can/should only go into a layer flock.  It has a little more value just because it is pretty and unique, but not a lot more.  A fair price would likely be $10-20 for a chick with an obvious fault.  If you got a buyer that really wanted the breed but didn't plan to breed them and didn't want to pay the high cost of a "perfect" chick, then you could probably get $25-40 each.  It all depends on the buyer and how bad they want the chicks.
