Hey, I have a question about this breed. I'm new to Orps but, I did read that lavender genes are stable,meaning all their offspring should be the same color and that the blues gene is unstable. Meaning if your raising blues their offspring can be blue, black or splash. So I got these lavenders from my bro in-law but, 1 is much lighter than the other three. Is this common with lavenders? I can post pic if you like, thanks
 
Not sure about any of that, sorry. I questioned color myself. These 3 has one light and 2 darker. I got them to replace our Lavender that got killed by a fox. She was magnificent!

These 3 chickens I got from a "breeder" but I think it turns out I actually have 3 rescued orpingtons that have a good home now. In other words, the breeder was maybe more of a collector. I posted previously on another thread, one has a bad leg...
