7 out of nine hatched the first time I used it! So I made this cooler-bator in a pinch and have upgraded it since. It was easy to make and not too pricey as I had most of the items needed from an old cooler-bator. Maybe someone will find my design helpful! :)

When I first used this incubator I just lifted the top to vent. Now I have two vent holes (one on each side) that can be covered. Also in the second picture you can see a green straw that goes to a tray on the bottom of the incubator to add water for humidity!

The first time this bator was a still air I now have my fan from my old cooler-bator incubator working perfectly in this one.

I use a dimmer switch attached to a 15 watt bulb for a heating source.

I don't have a fancy automatic turning machine so I use an egg carton cut in half on 3/4in pipe and rock the eggs 3 times a day.

I will be doing a hatch in August of a dozen easter/olive eggers. Hatch day will be August 21st! I will keep this thread updated!

Most excellent! How stable is it? You seem to have gotten a great hatch...
I've been considering making one myself. I have a bator now that just isn't tall enough. Any tips???

It's stays at 99 degrees really well. Sometimes the temp will drop but only at night when the room it's in gets to be about 65 degrees. I fixed that problem by marking the dimmer switch with two lines to have it set for day and night. I do recommend making the egg carton turner! It saves me a bunch of time and it was super easy to make.
