New to Guineas :)

Sometimes the wind blows and it will stir up the keets(around 9 weeks old) for an hour- but other times I can run the mower right by the run and they will sleep through it.. at least when they are young their noise is not predictable.. pretty much anything that startles them. For the last few days mine are convinced that airplanes are birds of prey.. LOL So far I haven't minded their sounds at all.. I just have 3 though.. perhaps if I had a dozen or more it might be a lot more overwhelming. :)

What do Guineas mostly make noise about? Strangers, animals they don't know or other things or all things??

It can even set them off if you wear a different color or type of clothing than they are accustomed to. I keep a live trap baited with eggs to catch any predators that happen through.

The first time these guineas saw a skunk in the trap they just lined up along the fence on the other side of the trap and curiously looked at the skunk. Later I had a pair of raccoons in the trap at the same time. This time they all lined up at the fence hollering their heads off.

Guineas often go off for reasons only known to them and quickly forgotten but once the racket starts they keep it up long after they have forgotten why they started. Mine will often start hollering simply because they see me in the distance from a different than normal direction.

Does anyone have any good advice for a New Guinea owner

Have patience! These guys are real characters. Sometimes that's good and sometimes not!
