I have my first flock and I have 4 roosters I need butchered. I'm not ready to do it myself and I'm not about to watch a YouTube video and try it myself, does anyone love near York PA that I could pay to do it and/or give you 2?

I live in Herndon...not sure how close to York that is as I just moved here.

I will be doing some slaughtering within a week. It isn't as hard as you would think just depends on the method you use.

What breed are they? If they are Super X Cornish or another hybrid meat chicken they are probably close to ready. If they are standard breed chickens then I would wait until they are 4-6 months so they can get some size on them.

Herndon PA is about 1 1/2 hours from me but it would be worth the drive what do you charge?

Wow....

Most everyone that's learned to process chickens in the last few years has used YouTube videos to reference.

I think you should at least watch and see how it goes, here's a very good video showing the process.

I would suggest doing one one day and the other 2 the next. If you just take your time and go slow it will go fine. This is what we did when we started, now the process goes very quickly.

3 hours driving seems excessive for 3 birds, they will take you about an hour total, plus you'll learn a new skill and be ready to do them again when it's time. Poultry are fairly clean to process, once you have the feathers off they are just like every other chicken you ever ate your entire life. Everyone that eats chicken knows there way around one with a knife, it's just a matter of perspective
