I have been using the verm-x to worm with because I was wanting to take a organic approach but I have found out that this product is completely useless as a wormer.i need to know what to use for just 8 hens ?and how to dose because all the workers I have read about the directions are dosing a lot more than I have.

I will state that I never worm my poultry, never had never will, I'm not sure why so many people do, I have had poultry for 25 years plus, I don't worm anything unless it actually needs it, so many worms are now resistant to wormers. That's how I stay organic. I sure someone else will help on dosage and brand though.

I wouldn't be worming either but two hens have very loose droppings and apparently have need of worming.

Loose dropping can be from many causes.......
......too many veggies/fruits, hot weather when they drink extra water, stress, funky feed, various illnesses, etc.

Microscopic fecal exam would be the only way to know if they had worms or not,
except round worms which can be seen in the feces with the naked eye.
