Swollen Feet

It sounds like some kind of paralysis. Have you checked he has not broken anything or anything is dislocated? Some neurological diseases can can also cause the use of limbs to be lost.

I checked his legs, nothing seems to appear swollen or broken/dislocated. Its odd, he was fine when he went to bed last night. He seems to breathe normally.

My chicken's feet seem to be swollen. She constantly picks them up as if they are painful to stand on. It doesn't look like bumblefoot. Does anyone have any ideas.

Hi :welcome It could be scaly leg mite looking at the raised scales on the legs. The metal ring on her leg looks too tight too so I would remove it ASAP.

Hello all! I am new here but have come here for lots of advice. I have a hen with both feet swollen, blisters between her toes, legs are very warm to the touch, feet show signs of infection, swollen pads on bottom of foot but no sign of scabs indicating bumblefoot. She lays down all of the time. We soaked her feet in warm water and Epsom salt and the blisters broke and drained a bit. Not really sure what we are dealing with or what treatment method to try. I would love some input.

Hello and welcome to BYC!

This is definitely some sort of internal infection that had settled in the foot joints. MG, which is a mycoplasma, does this but generally in the left foot joint only.

You might get this bird on Baytril pills. Maybe Cephalexcin if Baytril is too expensive.

I would also post this in our emergency section for more opinions and help.

Good luck and I hope you can get this bird healed up soon!! :)
