NEED ADVICE ON INCUBATOR TEMPS.. Please Give Me Advice

Yesterday evening I had the 100 watt bulb burn out in the incubator. When I noticed it was burned out the temp was at 34.5 celius maybe at this temp for 8 hours not sure. I thought I had another bulb only to find out it was a 50 watt bulb. I put the bulb in hoping for the best. I thought I had the temp situated only to awake and see the temp at 38.5. I have eggs to hatch tomorrow and through the month of August. Any advice or experiences with this type of problem? Have I lost my eggs due to the heat? I now think I have the incubator regulated at 37.8...so far so good with the temp. Please give me some input.

Thanks

Some of them may survive, though they may hatch earlier or later then expected. Make sure the humidity is right for the hatch.

Best of luck!

38.5C is 101.3F and that's not a problem. As for the low temps, I've seen people have power outtages for 24 hours and still have decent hatches, so I definitely wouldn't give up hope.

I use a LG with fan kit and I'm just happy if it stays above 99 (37.2) and below 102 (38.8). I'd say it averages around 100F(37.9) it will periodically go to 101 (38.3). If it edges over 101.5F (38.6) I will attempt to cool it off or adjust. (Celcius equivalent rounded).

Do you do staggered hatches in just one bator?

Yes I do stagger hatching`s in one incubator. I am fairly new to hatching in the incubator and it sure is a learning experience. I surely learn by my mistakes but I now have got most everything worked out. My incubator hold 200 eggs so I am a busy guy plus I have nearly 100 chickens and I started out with 12. Living in The Philippines I love to see the faces of the locals when they see the size of my chickens. Thanks for your information it is greatly appreciated.

Respectfully
Dave
