Hi, I'm new on here and have been reading alot and getting a ton of good info from ya'll. I have 6, 2 week old Barred Plymoth Rocks. I just switched them from the normal chick waterer to a bottle with a nipple waterer on it. It took sometime but I do see them drinking from it now, I've removed the normal waterer. My question is, I've tried to give them treats, other foods, and they will not touch it. They will only eat there chick feed. Is this normal? Will they just come around to it one day? Also I made a roost for them out of a round piece of wood and put it a 1'' or so off the ground to try and get them use to sleeping on it. An they completely stay clear of it, its been two days. Is all this normal?

It took mine a while to trust me. I tried feeding them apples and they didn't touch it but now they eat almost anything I feed them my leftovers from dinner and they love it! I had a little rope but if you show them how to use it like pick them and put them on it and they'll eventually get the concept

Mine are going on 3 weeks old, I've tried bananas & apples tiny little pieces. I have quail as well and they loved the banana. They all love clovers & fresh cut grass.

I was also told to feed them Chick starter for the first 5 months, is that correct?
