I have 2 roosters and 10 hens (getting more) they've all gotten along very well the last 4 months. The young rooster is about 4-5 months old the older rooster is about a year-year and half old. Last night apparently they got into it pretty good. Younger rooster has a good limp and holds his leg up or lays down quite a bit. I've got him separated now. Is there any remedies to help him heal better or just let time heal his leg? I felt it and it doesn't seem broken as he can walk on it just looks to be a little tender now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

He should be able to heal on his own. Reintroduce him to the flock as soon as is possible. The longer he is away the more likely he and the dominant rooster are to fight again. Removing him may build his confidence and put him in line for another beat down.

Good info thanks. I just separated him this morning to give him a little more time to heal. They roost in two different locations. I'll let him out of the cage then.

Here is a back view. He does walk on it and put pressure on it. It's the left leg.

To me it looks like he just bends it to not put weight on it. When I feel his leg it all moves normal and feels solid, he doesn't try to get away or anything when I move his leg around. Thoughts?

He seems to be gettin around better. Still have them separated due to the fact the older guy jumps on him immediately. They are becoming more social the last couple days. So he should be back with the flock in a day or two
