I've got a flock of 3 standard cochins hen, 1 cochin rooster, and two misc. hens. All free-range during day and up at nite.
These are over 1 1/2 yrs. My chicks are 5 silkies 9wks old and 1 cochin chic 8wks old. Cochin chic is already showing
signs of being a roo and thinks he's a silkie. He's very large. When can I put them all together, at nite in the coop or during the day? Lights out or lights on?
Worried about the silkies not staying with the flock. Live in rural area. Also predators.

I've been exposing the cochin chick (very large boy) to the order flock as their always around the front porch.
Their fine with him, even his daddy. The silkies are usually in a wire pen for a couple hours in the shade, and
the crew doesn't pay attention to them. So all I need is to fix up the coop and pen to accomodate the silkies.
thanks for the advice.
