I have a few questions! I have 11 hens and 1 rooster almost 17 weeks old just had my first 2 eggs today! I checked them this morning and no eggs around 10 am and when I got home about 5:30 pm I found 2! Now we didn't eat these but I did crack them and they were perfect! My questions are is there a time limit on when to get them to the fridge before they go bad? It is very hot out in Illinois right now! Also since we have a rooster are we ok to eat the eggs as long as the hens don't sit on them for a few days?

Thanks!

Congratulations on your first eggs. Unless the eggs are incubated they will not develop. In this sort of heat I like to put the eggs in the refrigerator as they are laid. Under more moderate temperatures they can be stored on the counter.
