My cochins are dying!?

I had a flock of 13 in my coop but recently most of them have been ill. One roo died a week ago, another roo 5 days go and a hen 2 days ago all were 15 week old cochins. Oddly it was my 3 black ones that died which I think was a coincidence. I have been treating them for cocci the last 2 days due to their symptoms (bloody poop, lethargic, weight loss and my older hens have quit laying) All of my chickens look thinner but my cochins are the only ones who are acting sick and dying as of right now. This evening my last two cochins are drooling profusely and will hardly open their eyes. I've separated them from the rest and they have their medicated water as well as a small amount of food I've added a small amount of water to with electrolytes and probiotics. My chickens are in a large clean coop with about 2 acres to free range during the day. They range in age from 12 weeks to 2 years old. Thankfully my chicks 3weeks and under are kept separated and are not sick although I am treating them just in case. Yesterday I completely emptied the coop and staralized everything which I will do again after everyone is well. . . Or dead. Does this sound like cocci to you? Is their anything else I can do?

I'm sorry to hear that.

It sounds like coccidia may have weakened them towards some kind of virus, as drooling is not a normal sign of coccidia. Sorry I can't help more, but I don't know how to tell all the viruses and bacterias apart.

I hope they get better soon.

Thank you for a quick response :) that sounds reasonable to me. I'm only about a year and a half into chicken ownership so I've never had to deal with any illness before. I think its interesting that my cochins are dying first. I wonder why that is. And my roos are dying before my hens. As sad as the situation is I'm learning a lot. My local feed stores were completely sold out of Corid so I'm assuming its going around my area if it works that way. I had to go an hour away to find some!

Update: My rooster in the ICU cage died but the hen is a little better. She is keeping her eyes open for longer periods and going to town on the probiotic and electrolyte soaked food I made her. I'm thinking she has a 50/50 chance. All my other chickens are doing much better, no bloody poop, no one is lethargic and they are all looking much better.

I'm sorry about the rooster, I just lost a chick a few minutes ago and feel pretty sad about it. However, I'm glad your hen seems to be doing better!
