Require some urgent advice please.

Just found fresh blood/ maybe a scratch that's caused the blood on a bald patch underneath one of my hens vent. It is definitely not the vent.

She has been broody on and off, but is now laying again but has decided to start moulting and looking a bit shabby. I noticed the red and picked her up for a look and it appears to be fairly fresh and a recent wound to the area underneath her vent. The red area is about an inch and a half across.

I'm conscious that the other hens might aggravate the area, so will separate her.

Can anyone give me some advice please?

I am about to go to our local pet store and see if I can find some wound powder (after reading about it on a thread here)

Thanks in advance for any help...

2 things.
Treat it with some iodine and Neosporin.
Do you have staggered roosts? If it is possible for a hen on a lower roost to reach the vent on a bird roosting higher, they'll pick the vent and open a wound.

no the roost is a single level perch... I think the others may have pecked at her whilst she's been walking around - thank you
