Can Chickens eat pumpkin

They are fine if roasted...and the raw seeds don't need to be cracked open to get the anti-helminic affect as their gizzards will grind these seeds to digest them anyway. I've never seen a whole seed go through my chickens and come out whole on the other side.

I was wondering about the whole vs. cracked thing. I'm glad you said that, beekissed. Do you know: would cucumber, cantaloupe and watermelon seeds have the same anti-helminic effect?

We grew Prizewinner pumpkins this year... that is, until our chickens discovered them. They quickly reduced a great 40 pound pumpkin to something akin to a giant orange whiffle ball....

Wayne!
What a great idea! I think I'll get my girls a whole pumpkin to work on! It will beat them digging holes in their pen! Thanks for the idea!

New here but this is great news.
It will take me a while but I am bringing a small 1 1/4 acre area back to productive life I hope.
I will plant the Three Sisters Garden of corn, peas and pumpkins and winter squash.
The idea is the peas feeding the corn and the vine crops covering the soil.
I know pumpkins are good for pigs but if chickens love them too it will be a winner all the way around.
My family can't eat an acre of squash or pumpkins.
