as a new member...and loving this site and mom to 6 chicks...we have one with the butt!! its also the one with the umbilical cord still showing...she had it bad day 1 and is currently being treated with a little or rather lots of attention to her eating and drinking...daily butt check included...did the usual ...warm soft cloth, remove poop..it was pretty stuck on there so it was most critical not to yank..just dab and slight wipe...and after a lil dab of oil on her tush! although she seems to be getting better still tinier than her counterparts...I noticed some lack of feather/down on her little tush area...no one seems to be pecking at her however she does seem to be last in line for everything...as a precaution I went to making my mash...with a little acv with mother...and went to a quart waterer to keep the debris down from their bigger water jug....because frankly I was changing water constantly due to debris and this batch is the one carrying the pro-biotic addition...so better to change often with the medication for fresher water and less waste of medication...with hopes she will make it...next if she gets worse it will be separation and a mommy heater nest ....so any other solutions to help keep her little butt from becoming bare please I will take all advice I can get...we currently have 2 aranacana (sp) 2 barred rock, and 2 golden wyandotte....the pooper is one of my barred rocks....between the allergies of the dog, the adjustment to new weather and finding that my once sun-room aka computer room has become a brooder room with all supplies etc...its like having kids again! just all at once!
