This morning when I went to let the flock out, I noticed one of my turkeys standing still with her head down, and my other turkey pecking at her face. I shoo'd her away and saw that her face and neck looked like she

was beaten to a pulp last night. And she was soaking wet with feathers broken and missing. I immediately picked her up and brought her up on our deck. Put a heat lamp on her and gave her some electrolytes from my neighbor and started cleaning her wounds.

I know that my ducks are territorial, but they usually only fuss between themselves. They don't like anyone drinking out of their pool, which is why I have multiple water sources in my yard and coop. They have never outright attacked any of my other birds though. I have 10 hens, 2 roosters, 2 turkey hens, and 3 drakes. They are all the same age and all grew up together (all 5 mos old) my Peking drake, I have noticed, has become a little jerk her recently, but has t caused any damage or wounds.
Basically, I think that she tried to get a drink of water, my ducks attacked her and pushed her into the pool, it's about 18 inches deep, and then tried to drown her. She looks awful. My heart breaks. She seems to be feeling a bit better, she's grooming herself, shaking her feathers, and drinks, but won't eat. It sounds like she is congested when she drinks, like fluid either in her sinuses or lungs, I can't tell. What else can I do for her?? Her new home is on our deck with the heat lamp, but she had free run of the deck, so can move from the lamp if she wants. Anyone have any more suggestions? I'm thinking of taking the ducks to my brother's farm, but first am going to make the ducks their own pen at night, to see if that can help. Thanks for any suggestions!!

Poor dear. When my young hen had pneumonia recently the vet had me feed her frozen veggies. Peas, corn, and edimae. Was fairly easy to get her to eat them. I open her beak and put them on the back of her tongue she swallowed. She really improved though after I mustered up the courage to tube feed. Maybe even give her some vitamins. Rooster booster or polyvisol (no iron) in the baby isle.

Thank you heehaa. She's doing so much better this morning. I think she may have just been exhausted and hurting. She came to me looking for food when I walked outside to the deck.
