City of Massillon Ohio chicken laws

Hello, I am also residing in the City of Massillon, however, my property of 2 1/2 acres sits in Perry Twp. I also purchased chickens in March of 2015 and again in April....so I have a flock of about 8 chickens. All of my property is fenced in with 6 ft. high, chain link. I was skeptical of purchasing chickens, because my house itself sits in the city limits, and wasn't sure if I could get into trouble. Like you, I searched and searched for city ordinances, and found nothing. Even though, I know, my chickens are safe, I thought the law needed to be changed. It's a stupid law. I wrote into the counsel and stuck up for you and said they need to stop worrying about chickens, and worry more about the roads and crime. Anyways, I see where on Nov 16th, the law has been changed to allow people of Massillon to be allowed to own chickens. I'm so happy for you and everyone in the City Limits. Enjoy your little babies!!

Does anyone know how this turned out? I am getting try to get chickens allowed in Plain Township and any information close would help.
 
I thought after the telling of the whole "story" we would hear the out come too.. Skari posted her thoughts & said she had read the law was changed... so I am guessing she won & was able to keep her girls..
 
Help! I just had a complaint in Massillon about my babies! I have had chickens for almost 8 years and I have some older girls. Can anything be done to help my babies??

So what was the outcome? Are we allowed to have chickens? Just bought 6 and a coop. I was under the impression we are allowed but now I am not so sure.
