If that is a chicken, which I think it is, doesn't it need chick feed? If it's wild I'm not sure what they eat but a chick that young wouldn't be able to grind up bugs I don't think. I wonder if someone in her neighborhood has backyard chickens and a baby escaped? Maybe they are looking for it.

It is not a quail nor a pheasant. I have both.
There are several breeds of chickens with color varieties that have the "quail" stripes. This chick needs chick feed and a feather duster to snuggle under.
