I really love the look on this chick's face. He/she knows how adorable it is.

Funny story of the day.....

Background: My kids came along when I taught a preschool class last week. It was a great time & DD had Bubbles do her psychic chicken card trick. She's got a serious fan club around town. (Both the hen & DD) My youngest son wanted to make the craft the other teacher had prepared, so he did. I thought it looked cute & hung it up at home.

Yesterday DS asks me, "Why did you hang that up?"
Me "Because you made it, and it's very good."
DS "Mom, you know that poster's impossible, right?."
Me "What do you mean?"
DS "Duh! There's no rooster, so the egg's not fertile. It would never hatch!"

He's right!

Two college educated women didn't even think about it, but leave it to a 7 yr old to point out the obvious.

Yesterday was hatch day. Everyone was so excited to watch them hatch throughout the day, and my after school group got to touch one. Next week is my last class = a chick reunion, so the kids can see how much chicks grow in one week.

Aside from some silliness (which is to be expected from happy middle school girls) last night's dress rehearsal went well. The hair & headpieces stayed in place the entire night. The girls are looking forward to their big recital tonight.

The recital was a big success, the tap & lyrical routines looked great, & the hair pieces never lost a feather. DD & her friend were called up on stage to receive special recognition for all their work with the youngest dancers. Afterwards we celebrated with pizza.

When we arrived home, our incubator had a peeping chick. (Due this evening) We named her Hollywood. DD woke up this morning and said that she wanted to do yesterday all over again.
