Blood ring but the embryo is still alive?

Nothing. It's just the way the growth sits while it is immobile. Now, if they are in a turner and have that appearance I would say there's something wrong with the turner and it isn't getting turned. When you candle a hand turned egg whatever side was up will have that appearance until they develop farther along and can move on their own.
