When to put Muscovy baby duck with big ducks and chickens

one of my chickens hatched a Muscovy duck. I took the duck and have been taking care of it away from the flock. My muscovys seem to get along well enough with the chickens. The baby duck is about 5 weeks old now and I've gradually had it outside with everyone. The Muscovy mother is broody now and laying on eggs, and if the baby duck goes near she bites him. The father duck doesn't seem to mind him. But the chickens aren't very friendly. When should I start integrating the baby duck into our coop?

@michelle22 This always bothers me when someone asks this question because last year a member tired introducing their Muscovy ducklings around the same age in with their chickens the chickens ended up pecking quite a few to death and injuring the rest . I would keep my ducks and chickens separate and i do. Chickens can be brutal especially to young ducklings. Your duckling is adorable. Keep this duckling close to all of them during the day but not sleeping with them enclosed where it has no chance of getting away. You could place a dog crate or make a fenced area inside your coop for your duckling. too keep the flock from messing with him/her. of course the mama duck doesn't recognize her duckling your chicken hatched it not her. Imprinting begins at hatch.and before for the mama while she is brooding. .

I agree chickens are brutal, but muscovy hens are worse however, when they dont like something they will fight it and try to make it submissive. I would keep them separate maybe even get the little guy/girl a friend.

If you raised the baby with chicks however it could possibly work.
 
I just thought I'd let everyone know I integrated the Muscovy at that time, as well as another Muscovy and baby chicken later on and earlier than the first. All of them were fine. No one tried to hurt anyone. Nothing bad happened. And all are well.
