Building my first actual coop, going with a 4'x8' footprint, approximately 4'tall on the sides(makes the plywood easier). I'm going to have a raised floor with treated 4'x4'legs. It will be for my 2 bantams and I'm planning on expanding them to 12 or so. My question is, with a raised floor do you cover under the floor joists and insulate, or leave it open? I live in western Kentucky, we get snow and sub-freezing temps, but seldom below 0°F.

I'm going to do a slope roof with plenty of ventilation at the roof, hardware clothed of course
