I bought 2 days ago egg laying alright Island Reds from my local feed store.they were laying eggs there for then but not sure if it's going to take time for them to feel ok here to lay for my family in there new coop..please if anyone had any suggestions please message me.ty& God bless

Let me see if I got this right. You bought hens two days ago, and they were laying at that time. You are wondering if it will take some time for them to start laying at your place? The answer would be yes. It can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

You'll benefit from penning them side by side for a couple of weeks first, so they can get used to seeing the others and everybody can feel more comfortable when you do integrate the new ones. There may be fighting and issues with pecking order if you just put them right in there with no acclimation.

Also, quarantining new stock is ALWAYS a good idea, in case your new birds are carrying a pathogen or worms etc.. You dont want to risk either group by hurrying it too much. :)

Good luck! :)
