We have two Austrathorp chickens, my husband thinks one is a male. I think they are both females. Can you all help us out?

No, they aren't laying yet. The lady that sold them to me told me said they were almost 6 months old and that they should start laying any day.

The Australorp in question is definitely a cockerel because of his pointed saddle feathers. I'm not sure if you know this or not, but the Easter Egger in the background of the first picture is also a cockerel. Can I see some pictures of your other Australorp?

They aren't Australorps, for one thing. I can see yellow skin showing through their webbing on their feet. Australorps have white skin. I think they are much younger than you were told. They look like 12 to 16 week old cockerels. The male saddle feathers are just starting to come in on their backs.
