I added 4 new birds to my flock and now that they have started laying they do not lay in the coop like the other ones. They have a fenced in yard and just lay them on the ground. How do I get them to lay in the coop?

This could be a simple case of new girls still a little confused or it could be a case of the older girls not letting them in the nest boxes. The first thing I would try is to keep them in the coop till later in the morning for a few days to see if that helps. If the older girls aren't letting them in the boxes you may end up with eggs in the coop floor. If that happens you might try another nest box away from the other boxes and see if they will lay in there. If that works try moving the extra nest box closer over time to the old boxes and usually they slowly transition to the old boxes, but not always but still it's better than in the yard.

How long have new birds been with flock?
How old are the new ones?

New layers can take while to figure out where to lay.

Try making the boxes "fresher" with a more natural feeling to them with hay or something. Leave golf balls or a few eggs in the boxes so they see that they belong there. Hope this helps!
