This was the only one with development out of 12 shipped Serama eggs. Is this infection, poor incubation or regular decomposition? It smelled, but not as bad as I thought it would and not until I opened it.

Honestly I'm not sure. Most likely it was just a bad hatchery with low fertility rate and such. If none of the others even developed, it's not your fault because at a good hatchery eggs usually have at least 50% that even start developing. This one was probably just an early quitter. It looks that way because you didn't open it right away.
I think you are going to have a much better hatch this time and so am I!Thank you for the response. My new batch of shipped Serama has about 50% make it so far and they're from a fellow BYCer, rather than e-Bay. They took 3 days less to get here than the first ones also. They're still a week away from lockdown, but I also purchased a better incubator (fan, egg turner, 2 extra thermometer/hydrometers) this time. The other one (LG) I'm using for a hatcher only. Right now, I have 8 local Silkie eggs in lockdown. If these don't hatch, I know that the problem is definitely not with the eggs, but with ME! Lol I don't have a green-thumb either. I've killed more plants than I can count, and once I finally managed to kill a cactus in the Mohave Desert, I decided gardening was just not my niche.
