Joining two flocks and housing

I've actually got those. I use them in my honey bee shack. They aren't quite what I was looking for though. I want something that will turn on the main lights instead of the Christmas lights I'm using now.

Pretty sure that's the model I bought. I can set the shed lights to turn on in the early am but still has a switch to turn lights on/off manually.

I like that one much better than the one I am using on the cooler.
I misunderstood what you were looking at doing for the lighting. I now understand it is for the main lights not additional corded lights.

Ahhh missed that it is hardwired lights you are dealing with.

Digital might be nice, can change setting in less than 30 minute increments.

Ya you certainly could. I believe this one can be adjusted by the minute, however mine will turn on at 5 am and turn off at noon.

Edit-could also use something like this for an automatic pop door.

I usually take some time ramping up the length of day, large abrupt change isn't a good idea., and wish I could use smaller than 30 minutes increments.

But my lights aren't hardwired...eh, not that big of a deal.

I have joined two flocks twice...the newbies were pullets, but nonetheless...I put my pullets into a chicken tractor and let them enjoy the yard...then I let my ladies out to free range...they would all interact somewhat. I did that several times during a week or so, then one night, after the ladies had gone in the coop, I put the pullets in to roost...when they woke up, they acted like they had always been together! I'm sure that this may not work every time (I will let you know how it goes this month cuz I'm adding 3 more girls to a 7 girl flock) but I'm hoping that it is smooth as before! Good luck with yours...a shed is a great blank canvas!
