Well. Nearly four months of owning a rabbit for the first time, and I've somehow never actually flipped Pups over completely until today, and what do I see? A large swollen red mass right in between her back legs. I was walking and carrying her and it was dark, so I didn't get a good look, so at first I thought it was a huge tick. But when I touched it it was soft. My feed store sold her to me as a HER... it doesn't change much I guess, Pups is a pretty gender neutral name, but this is a very frustrating situation. Can anyone tell by the shape of his/her head? I'll give her a thorough check over in the morning and update you.

Can you get a belly pic? We got two 'shes' one time and ended up with babies...quite possible they mis-sexed him/her

It's too dark right now and I made her pretty angry at me, since she does not like being put back on the hutch unless it's on her own terms, so I will in the morning.

Obviously I'm a blatant amateur, because I went out today and checked Pups over and I'm still not sure. Her fur is so thick that unless I know exactly where to look, I have about fifteen seconds before she gets fed up and scratches the crap out of my legs. The swollen mass that I saw yesterday was definitely not there, which just raises even more questions. Ugh. I'll try and get a picture after school.

Looks like a male to me.

Even very experienced rabbit people make mistakes on gender - which is why we make jokes about getting visited by the "sex-change fairy."
